The three amendments on the ballot in November would make wealthy people, corporations, and power-hoarding politicians the biggest winners — while everyday North Carolinians already facing rising prices would be left with fewer resources, freedoms, and choices for the future.
We can deliver real relief to families, make the wealthy and profitable corporations pay what they owe, and make sure every eligible person can vote.
What’s on the ballot?
No matter our race, where we live, or how much money we make, most of us want the same things: good schools for our kids, safe communities, affordable health care and housing, and the freedom to participate in our democracy.
But powerful interests and politicians have put three constitutional amendments on our ballots that could make it harder for us to come together and invest in the communities we call home.
Two tax amendments would lock new limits on public resources into our state Constitution, putting schools, health care, emergency services, elections, and other community needs at risk while delivering tax giveaways to the wealthiest few, corporations, and large property owners.
A third amendment would add an unnecessary voter ID requirement — which is already law — to our state Constitution, creating another barrier to the ballot instead of making it easier for eligible North Carolinians to participate in our democracy.
We need to protect what makes North Carolina great. Vote AGAINST all three amendments in November.
