Nash County Board of Commissioners
A bipartisan majority of Nash County commissioners backed a resolution Monday that encourages state lawmakers to keep certain taxing authority in local hands.
In a 5-2 vote, the Nash County Board of Commissioners adopted the resolution that opposes any legislation that seeks to further restrict county governments from levying and collecting property taxes.
Commissioner Robbie Davis reported that the N.C. Association of County Commissioners recently held a special-called meeting for county managers and commissioners to review proposed legislation that would enable the legislature to set limits regarding local property tax collections.
